5 Latin Social Media Stars You Should Know

There are plenty of social media stars out there who have reached new levels of success, but not all of them are from Latin backgrounds. Below are just a few of the Latino stars you should be following on platforms life Instagram, Vine and YouTube. They, like many others, have branched careers out of doing what they love most on the Internet.

1. LeJuan James: Comedy

The Dominican and Puerto Rican comedian has gained a large following of Latino fans on various social media platforms, like Vine, Instagram and Facebook, for his videos depicting what it is like to grow up Latino in America.

The comedian has attended various youth and Latino related events due to his popularity and exploration of Latin culture and even caught the attention of Buzzfeed, who featured a Spanish article using his videos.

2. Dulce Candy: Beauty & Fashion

The Mexican star, who is also a war veteran, rose to popularity on YouTube with her makeup, hair and DIY tutorials. Branching off of that, the star has added author to her name with the upcoming release of her book “The Sweet Life” due Aug. 4. With her own website, she has expanded into a brand that caters to empowering women through creativity.

3. David Lopez: Comedy

Lopez, like LeJuan James, uses social media to make comedic videos that revolve around youth life in the United States, as well his Latin culture. Lopez, who is from Mexico but based in California, created the character of Juan on Vine in 2013. The 28-year-old California native often collaborates with other Vine stars in his videos.

4. Nicole Guerriero: Beauty & Lifestyle

Guerriero is a Argentinian and Italian YouTube star from Tampa Bay, Florida. The star uses her own personal experiences and experimentation with makeup to help her followers figure out how to get certain looks with tutorials.

The vlogger, as it’s called when videos are involved, has over 2 million subscribers on the video site, and in 2013, according to the Tampa Bay Times, she was voted Favorite YouTube Beauty Guru on Ryan Seacrest’s website, beating out several other beauty gurus.

5. Caeli: Actor/Director

Using YouTube as a platform for comedy, instead of for tutorials like many of her female peers, Caeli caters to millennials by poking fun at stereotypes and everyday situations in her short films. Her videos are in Spanish and she has almost 5 million subscribers on the social media platform. The 25-year-old, along with LeJuan James, is nominated for this years Premios Tu Mundo.
