Usually it’s the “Bachelor” sending contestants home brokenhearted, but in Monday night’s episode of ABC’s reality show, one of the ladies turned the table on him.
Juan Pablo Galavis and the six finalists returned from their trip in New Zealand with a stop in his hometown of Miami for some fun – and, alas, drama – in the sun.
The episode started similarly to the others with the U.S.-Venezuelan hunk going on a one-on-one date with one of the ladies. This time it was Sharleen and the pair spent the day cuddling, relaxing and kissing on a yacht.
With the hometown dates set for next week’s episode, Galavis gushed to the camera that he really wants to meet her parents. But it looks like the feelings are just one-sided.
The opera singer revealed that while she was into Galavis, she said she wished she were “dumber” so she didn’t have to worry about the process of the show.
So it was no surprise when she willingly eliminated herself from the show – what was surprising was that it took her so long to throw in the towel considering she had been questioning her feelings toward Galavis since the get-go.
“I just know that he doesn’t have what I’m looking for in terms of a forever partner,” Sharleen told the camera. “I just don’t think that I can get to the place I’m supposed to be at in three weeks’ time.”
Galavis thanked her for being honest and was supportive of her decision.
Like in every episode, there is some drama and like it has been for the last couple of weeks, it involves Clare.
Clare – who famously had a midnight excursion with Galavis before being told it was a mistake – was joined by Chelsie, Andi and Renee on a group date to a private island near Miami.
Galavis gave the group date rose to Andi, which guaranteed her a hometown date next week, and this did not sit well with Clare. She was furious and complaining to the camera.
“What the f*** am I doing here?” she said, adding later at the hotel that she thought Andi got the date rose because needed “reassurance.”
This caused Nikki, who was not in the group date, to storm out. When Clare confronted her about her behavior, the claws came out.
“Let’s be honest, I don’t like you. We’re never gonna be friends,” Nikki told Clare.
At the rose ceremony, both of the ladies along with Renee were given a rose, meaning Chelsie was eliminated.
Perhaps the most shocking moment of the episode was when Galavis decided to introduce his daughter Camila – and other members of his family – to Nikki during their one-on-one date to her dance recital. [Fox]
