“Parks and Recreation” starlet Natalie Morales jumps to new ABC comedy

Natalie Morales, whom fans may remember best in the role of Lucy in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” has officially been tapped to join the cast of a new ABC comedy titled “Trophy Wife.”

According to Deadline, Morales – who has appeared on a variety of small screen hits like “White Collar,” “CSI : Miami” and who recently acted in a character arc on HBO’s “The Newsroom” – will be joining the pilot of the ABC show, which tells the story of reformed party girl Kate (played by “Rock of Ages” star Malin Ackerman) whose life changes overnight when she falls in love. The plot twist? Her new man (Bradley Whitford) has three scheming kids and two feisty ex-wives, who will be played by Marcia Gay Harden and Michaela Watkins.

Morales will play the role of Meg, Kate’s best friend. It’s just the latest in a string of projects for the Cuban-American actress, who can be spotted tonight in her recurring role on the CW teen hit “90210.”
