Daisy Fuentes is ruler of her empire.
The Cuban model-turned-mogul first broke boundaries as the first Latina VJ on MTV. Since her hosting days, the Cuban model has proven that being business savvy can go a long way. In 2004, Daisy launched her successful fashion line with Kohl’s, which has made over an estimated $800 million.
The 45-year-old beauty has now launched a line of wigs titled, Luxhair Wow. We chatted with Daisy about her new venture, her business advice to Latinas, and more! Read it below:
What inspired you to launch the Luxhair Wow wig line?
“I love sharing behind-the-scenes secrets. Wigs and hair extensions have always been a huge part of my business. It’s nice to be able to offer this as part of my brand. It makes sense to me because it’s all about fashion and style. The right hairstyle or cut can really define your style. And today it’s easier and more affordable than ever to change your hair as often as you like.”
Which piece is your favorite?
“I love the short auburn bob with the bangs! But I wear the pony fall and the clip on bangs the most.”
When do you feel the most beautiful?
“When I’m surrounded by friends and family. But a great lipstick and great hair helps too!”
What are some of your style tips for fall?
“I love layering and scarves in the fall. Invest in a warm, sophisticated, comfy sweater or jacket.”
You are a successful Latina mogul. What advice do you have for other women who want to follow your path?
“Be prepared for success. Stick to your goals, stay on your path but be open to opportunities that come your way. Surround yourself with people who have had success with what you’re trying to do. Know your story and share it. Find a mentor. And have fun!” by Sugey Palomares [Latina]
